ServerPoint Presents New Dedicated Server Offerings.
2008-01-07, HostMan.biz ServerPoint, a provider of shared, reseller, colocated, dedicated and VPS hosting solutions, announced today it will offer new Quad Core Xeon 2.4Ghz dedicated servers for $199 per month. The company articulated that Xeon brand refers to the many families of Intel's x86 multiprocessing CPUs – for dual-processor and multi-processor configuration on a single motherboard. Quad Core refers to two separate dual-core die next to each other in one CPU package. And further states that when Combined, they add power to Web sites that run high-resource applications, including gaming sites and blogs with high-traffic forums. The company also states that the Quad Core Xeon Servers offer four separate cores, giving users the power of four processors within one server. They also include 2GBs of Frame Buffered RAM, a 250GB SATA drive, 7mbps of bandwidth and high quality Supermicro motherboards. "ServerPoint's goal is to customize its product offerings based on the needs of our customers, and these powerful new resources have been developed specifically for Web administrators who have intensive gaming or high-traffic applications running on their sites," said ServerPoint CTO Erik Johnson. "We were able to negotiate a great deal with hardware supplier Supermicro for parts and volume on CPUs and RAM, which allowed us to offer these powerful servers at such a great value."
