New VPS Services by ServerPoint.
2007-10-04, HostMan.biz ServerPoint, a provider of shared, reseller, colocated, dedicated and VPS hosting solutions, today announced that it will offer three new VPS hosting plans. A VPS is a server divided into separate, 'virtual' servers. It offers low-cost, flexible web hosting that is traditionally associated with shared hosting, but with more control of the hosting environment. ServerPoint CTO Erik Johnson said the company takes special precautions to ensure their servers are never overloaded, a common complaint from web developers whose sites are hosted on low-quality VPS. VPS Basic starts at $19.99 per year, and includes 5 GB of disk space, 128 MB of guaranteed RAM, 300 GB of bandwidth and includes an unlimited number of domains and two IP addresses. Linux VPS Complete, the company's mid-range service, includes plans that start at $29.99 per month, with 25GB of disk space, 384 MB of guaranteed RAM, 1,000 GB of monthly data transfer, in addition to the resources available through the Basic plan. Linux VPS Deluxe, their premiere VPS option that starts at $49.99 per month, offers 50GBs of disk space, 512MBs of guaranteed RAM, 1,500 GBs of bandwidth and full root access, in addition to the resources available through the Complete plan. "Other hosts run their VPS on a low-end server which offers zero redundancy. ServerPoint hosts its VPS on one of our Colossus II servers, which we developed in-house so that it would have the power and functionality that we required. Colossus II has redundancy on every kind of server element that normally fails, including power, storage, CPUs and RAM.
