Demand Media Offers Social Networking Tools with .tv.

Demand Media, Inc., the next-generation web media company, and its wholly owned subsidiary and largest wholesale registrar, eNom , announced today that eNom resellers will be able to offer their customers the Demand Media industry leading social networking tools with every .tv registration. Today's news is the next step in an overall effort to drive broader adoption of .tv domain names by both businesses and consumers. For the first time, users who register a .tv domain will have simple, out-of-the-box customizable social networking tools to build their own personalized channels free of charge.
The company held an invitation only event Monday for its top resellers in advance of this week's TRAFFIC Conference. At this event, Demand Media co-founder and CEO, Richard Rosenblatt, unveiled the exclusive offer. "As media becomes more personal and community focused, users will want to build their own space and control their social network. We hope to lead that evolution by providing unique domain and media products that leverage this next generation of media," said Rosenblatt. In December of last year, Demand Media announced a strategic alliance with VeriSign, Inc., to leverage Demand Media's new media platform, industry relationships and web 2.0 expertise to increase .tv registrations.
