VeriCenter Completes Data Center Expansions.
2006-10-23, HostMan.biz VeriCenter, Inc., a leading managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing company, announced today that it has successfully added 40,000 square feet of revenue-producing data center capacity within VeriCenter's existing data center facilities in four major markets across the United States. VeriCenter operates a nationwide network of premier data center facilities in six major U.S. cities. With over 450,000 gross square feet of data center facilities, VeriCenter has the potential to build out over 250,000 square feet of conditioned revenue-producing raised floor space. These recently completed expansion projects -- in VeriCenter's Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, and Denver data center facilities -- bring VeriCenter's current level of production raised floor space to 145,000 square feet. At this time, VeriCenter fully utilizes only 20% of the potential capacity of its data center facilities, leaving plenty of headroom for continuing its rapid growth. "VeriCenter has grown revenues for 25 consecutive quarters at an annual growth rate of 135%, and we plan to continue increasing our market share in the managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing markets," said Gray Hall, CEO and president of VeriCenter. Our additional capacity provides us with a competitive advantage and gives us the ability to scale quickly to meet market requirements on demand." "The demand for high quality data center space has never been stronger due to enterprise regulatory and business continuity requirements, not to mention the explosive growth in Internet traffic, said Daniel Golding, Vice President & Senior Analyst for Tier 1 Research. "We are seeing demand outpace supply by a factor of 4 in the near and mid term. Overall data center supply has been increasing very slowly -- only 2.3% in the last year, while demand has increased 9.2%. VeriCenter is clearly meeting a strong market demand with their continued expansion drive." Business customers considering managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing typically look for a service provider that has the capacity to serve them now and in the future. Much of today's demand for data center capacity includes the need to operate dense server and storage environments with heavy power and cooling requirements. Running dense computing environments in legacy data centers is difficult due to the power and cooling design of older facilities.
