CanadianWebHosting.com has announced its implementation of TippingPoint, 3Com’s Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).
TippingPoint is an in-line device that fits into a network to protect VoIP infrastructure, routers, switches, DNS and other critical infrastructure from malicious attacks. The system inspects packets to establish whether they are legitimate or malicious and is constantly updated by TippingPoint Digital Vaccine Service which provides filters that guard against the most current vulnerabilities.
“TippingPoint has enabled us to deliver a better uptime for our customers,” suggested Senior System Administrator Mr. Alex Zarud. “There was no longer a need to monitor the servers for ‘exploitable processes’ since TippingPoint blocks all these attacks.”
