Verio Unveils Linux Virtual Private Server.
2006-08-14, HostMan.biz Verio Inc. today unveiled the development of its award-winning Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosted service running Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 4. Available to customers and reseller partners worldwide starting in the fourth quarter 2006, the offering will mark Verio's first time to fully support VPS services in the Linux environment. Verio will announce Linux VPS at LinuxWorld, where the company will exhibit and offer demonstrations and live test drive previews of the upcoming offering. The combination of Verio's VPS technology with Red Hat's Enterprise Linux operating system makes it best suited for small and midsize businesses and resellers, including the developer community. Verio's new Linux VPS solution will leverage a virtualized managed Linux environment with partitioning technology, enabling customers to take advantage of a full suite of managed services, account controls and applications, operating independently in the Linux environment, and at a competitive cost. Developers and small businesses, who have demanded advanced Linux hosting and managed services features, will receive reliability and dependable uptime with no bandwidth overage fees. Businesses with little IT staff will also have freedom from day-to-day hassles of server maintenance and management since the Verio experts fully support the new Linux infrastructure, including managing data backups, server security and software updates.
