SunGard Launches National Network.
2006-06-06, HostMan.biz SunGard Availability Services and Recall Corporation today announced an agreement to provide data protection and disaster recovery solutions targeted at small and mid-size businesses (SMBs). Recall can now offer their Data Protection Services, which provide secure, off-site protection and regular rotation of backup media, along with SunGard's best-in-breed information availability services. The protection and recovery solutions will help SMBs mitigate risk by helping to ensure information is managed securely and efficiently off-site and that recovery systems are available to bring data quickly back into business operations following a disaster. "The SunGard/Recall offering meets the largely untapped SMB need for a solution that delivers one point of contact for both data protection and recovery," said Greg Alexander, vice president of sales and marketing at Recall. "SMBs now have secure, hardened information availability infrastructure at a small fraction of the cost that would be required if they tried to build it themselves." Under the agreement, Recall will resell SunGard's System Recovery services while SunGard can resell Recall Data Protection services as part of its System Recovery solutions. In the near future, Recall plans to offer SunGard's Vaulting and E-Mail Archiving Services. "SMBs cannot afford business downtime," said Karen Falcone, vice president, business development at SunGard Availability Services. "By working with Recall, we are connecting vital business data--securely stored offsite--with computing systems that are ready to go when needed. For SMBs, this is really an opportunity for them to keep people and information connected." |
