Peak 10 Ready for Active Hurricane Season.

The review was designed to ensure that Peak 10 can provide its customers a secure facility and redundant infrastructure as well as weather and disaster recovery information before, during and after a hurricane or other natural disaster. Peak 10 tested its emergency management plan to make certain four key functions are available in case a disaster strikes: * The ability to continue to provide a secure facility. Each data center will be fully monitored and managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. * Ensure access to multiple Tier 1 Internet service providers from each Peak 10 data center and connectivity from facility-to-facility via Peak 10's private OC-n network. * 24 hours, 7 days a week data center availability. Since all of its facilities are outside mandatory evacuation areas, Peak 10's data centers will be fully staffed and able to handle customer requests and onsite needs. * Generator refueling processes have been reviewed and contingency plans made in the event of fuel shortages. Hurricane season on the Atlantic seaboard runs from June 1 to November 30 this year. In a recent U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) report, the organization forecasts 13 to 16 named storms for 2006. In the last season, there were 28 named storms in the Atlantic Basin, which includes Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Of them, 15 became hurricanes, with seven being Category 3 or higher, far exceeding predictions.
