EarthLink Expands Enterprise Business Unit.
2006-05-01, HostMan.biz EarthLink, Inc. today announced the expansion of its Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) unit to meet the growing demand for a suite of high-speed services that deliver broader coverage to small and medium sized businesses. The newly named unit, EarthLink Business Solutions(SM), will take advantage of the company's recent acquisition of New Edge Networks which builds upon EarthLink's five years of experience providing dial-up, high-speed access, and Web hosting services to small to medium sized business customers. New Edge Networks builds and manages networks for businesses and communication providers nationwide. "EarthLink Business Solutions reflects the ever changing needs of the small business customer," said EarthLink veteran Linda Beck, who serves as executive vice president and general manager for EarthLink Business Solutions(SM). "In addition to meeting their demands for Web hosting and expanded broadband access, we will soon be able to offer current and prospective clients direct access to payment processors similar to what New Edge provides to its multi-site consumers." With New Edge Networks, EarthLink Business Solutions customers will have access to the largest broadband footprint in the country. They will gain a wide distribution network that includes major carriers; wholesale, direct and indirect reseller partners; agents, value-added resellers, system integrators and referral dealers. New Edge's presence will also enable EarthLink's retail and channel partners to sell business access nationwide. As part of its expansion, EarthLink Business Solutions is introducing an enhanced web hosting Value-Added-Reseller program (VAR), enabling resellers to receive discounts of up to 60 percent off the regular rate, depending on volume. Domain registration would be free to value-added resellers who maintain a customer base of at least 50 accounts. EarthLink's Value-Added Resellers program is administered by dedicated account managers and receives 24-hour technical support. The Web hosting solution operates on a reliable, redundant network of multiple T3 connections through multiple service providers with uptime exceeding 99.9% over the last few years. |
