Go Daddy may go public.
2006-04-13, HostMan.biz Go Daddy, the Internet-domain registration company well-known for its provocative TV ads, is thinking about going public, according to several media reports. The Scottsdale-based company has hired Lehman Brothers to manage an initial stock offering, according to those close to the deal. These same sources say the offering could raise more than $100 million. Officials with Go Daddy and Lehman Brothers refused to comment on the reports. GoDaddy.com has more than 9 million Internet domain names under management. The company has made national headlines the past two years for its Super Bowl commercials, the content of which caused the National Football League to pull the ad after one showing. The resultant controversy was worth millions in free publicity, according to published reports. |
