Hostway to open Chicago datacenter in June.
2006-03-06, HostMan.biz Hostway Corp., which provides Web services to businesses, will open a new datacenter in Chicago this June. According to reports released Monday, Web hosting provider Hostway (hostway.com) will open a new data center in Chicago this June. The company will spend $10 million to update the 50,000 square foot space located at 100 North Riverside, which is also home to the Boeing Company. The site was formerly occupied by a data center belonging to SBC Communications. Hostway's new site will house Web servers and employ a range of technology professionals. Hostway says there is a limited amount of quality data center space available. The company says it acquired the new space in order to meet capacity shortages it expected to encounter by the end of 2006. Hostway also plans to meet increasing customer demand by doubling its North American staff this year from 275 to about 550. The Web hosting provider plans to add 50 to 70 people to its current staff of 110 in Chicago. These jobs will include software developers, network engineers, marketers and customer representatives. |
