Comodo Protects Non-Profit Groups.

This initiative was the result of Comodo's extensive research into identifying Internet Fraud segment clusters. Comodo expects that over 3,000 Not for Profit organizations will benefit from this initiative Comodo's Identity and Trust Assurance offering enables NPO's to enjoy the same total security as high profile retail and banking websites worth thousands of dollars and includes: * Free High Assurance SSL Certificate - High Assurance SSL certificates ensure any data passed between the donor and the server is 256 bit encrypted and cannot be intercepted. Furthermore, that the charity has been vetted and is a legitimate entity. * Free Content Verification Certificate -CVC's give donors the ability to unequivocally ascertain the authenticity of charity websites by simply moving their mouse over the website logo. Only the genuine site will display a green border around the browser. * Free Daily Server Vulnerability Scanning - Comodo's HackerGuardian service will conduct daily scans of the target server to identify and eliminate potential weaknesses. Charities will also receive an unspoofable site seal that certifies their servers as secure. * Online fax service, TrustFax, at cost - Comodo will offer the service, which features fax broadcasting and high volume traffic capabilities, at cost price. Recent security breaches such as the theft of 2,000 donor addresses from a UK Christian Charity website add weight to existing research suggesting cyber criminals are focusing on non-profit sites as an easy target. However, unlike private corporations, many charities do not have the time, resources or expertise necessary to protect themselves from the latest attacks. The problem is exacerbated by the wider misconceptions that an SSL certificate alone is sufficient protection against online fraud.
