IBM Buys Software Firm Bowstreet.
2005-12-20, HostMan.biz International Business Machines Corp. said Tuesday it is acquiring Bowstreet Inc., a maker of software for collecting and publishing business documents, for an undisclosed amount. Adding Bowstreet complements IBM's sharpened focus on business services, giving it a customizable application that manages corporate information and makes it available to employees and clients through a Web portal. The companies said they have partnered over the past three years, and that customers using Bowstreet technology with IBM software have built portal applications as much as 12 times faster than with other tools. Terms of the deal were not revealed. IBM did not say if Tewksbury, Mass.-based Bowstreet will remain a separate unit or be merged into an existing division. |
