Reuters Extends MCI Security Contract.
2005-12-15, HostMan.biz Internet service and hosting provider MCI (mci.com) announced on Thursday that Reuters had extended its global security contract. MCI provides Reuters with its managed network security service NetSec. According to the new three-year deal, MCI will provide managed firewall and network-based intrusion detection devices in addition to early warning threat identification and detection capabilities. The services will be delivered at sites in the United States, Europe and Asia. "Our network-based real time security alert service is a critical component of Reuters's overall security management framework," says Chris Sharp, vice president of NetSec Security Services for MCI. "Leveraging our expansive geographic reach, Reuters can take advantage of our global threat identification and early warning systems so that viruses and other threats are stopped before they reach the enterprise border." Simon Riggs, global head of IT security operations at Reuters, says MCI's security services help mitigate network threats before they affect employees, customers or partners. |
