LocalNet Buys Web Host CoreComm Clients.
2005-12-14, HostMan.biz Web hosting provider LocalNet Corporation (localnet.com) announced on Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of CoreComm's Internet access and Web hosting customers. The transaction will give CoreComm access to LocalNet's low-cost dialup network, and in turn, provide LocalNet customers with access to CoreComm's business services. Former CoreComm customers will be served by a new company called CoreComm Internet Services. "We value both brands and will continue to offer services through LocalNet and CoreComm," says chief operating officer David Kaplan. "The combined companies have over $40 million in sales and will employ 330 people. Together, they form the largest privately held dialup Internet service in the United States with over 250,000 subscribers." LocalNet, a low-cost Internet service provider, was recognized in November as one of Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Companies. This was the fourth time in five years that LocalNet made the "Inc. 500" list. |
