Web Host Digital North Buys VISI.com.
2005-12-09, HostMan.biz Web hosting provider Digital North announced on Wednesday that it had acquired DSL.net's (dsl.net) Minnesota-based Internet service subsidiary Vector Internet Services or VISI.com for $3.3 million in cash. The newly merged company will take the VISI.com (visi.com) name. Gary Elfert, sales and marketing director for VISI.com, says the deal will benefit customers of both companies by putting hosting and Internet access under a single roof. "We've been working with VISI.com for four years and it's been a great, productive relationship," says Mike Sowada, CEO of Digital North. "We've been a contract supplier of Web hosting services for them and they've provided our customers Internet connectivity. Their Internet solutions fully complement our Web hosting capabilities. I've always been impressed with the company." Sowada will stay on as CEO of the newly merged company, which will also retain the VISI.com data center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Both companies are based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |
