Apache's share dropped from 70.98 to 69.97 percent. Microsoft improved from 20.24 to 20.92 percent. Meanwhile, Sun gained 0.20 and Zeus One lost 0.02 percentage points. Netcraft's survey measures Web server software use on all Internet connected computers. The November survey received responses from 74,353,258 sites, marking a rare decrease from the previous month. According to Netcraft, the decrease can be at least partly attributed to one million expiring .name domains registered with Web host Zipa. Zipa added one million new .name domains in September through a promotion that allowed registrars to register bulk quantities of .name domains for 60 days.
