Secunia Finds WHM AutoPilot Flaw.
2005-11-21, HostMan.biz A vulnerability has been found in WHM AutoPilot (whmautopilot.com), according to a report by security organization Secunia (secunia.org). WHM AutoPilot is an add-on script used with the popular cPanel server management system. According to the report, a malicious user could exploit the flaw to bypass certain security restrictions. It is caused by an input validation error in "cancel_account.php" where the "c" parameter is not properly verified. To be successfully exploited, the cancel request must be approved by an administrator. The vulnerability, rated "not critical," has been confirmed in version 2.5.30 and reported in versions 2.5.20 and prior. Secunia says other versions may also be affected. According to Secunia, users can resolve the issue by editing the source code so that users can only perform requests for their own accounts. |
