Web Host Savvis Moves to Dismiss.
2005-11-17, HostMan.biz Managed hosting and utility services provider SAVVIS (savvis.com) said on Wednesday that it had filed a request with the Supreme Court of the state of New York to dismiss the claim filed against it by American Express. The lawsuit involves a $241,000 American Express bill charged by the company's chairman and CEO Robert McCromick at popular New York adult entertainment club Scores in October 2003. McCormick, who has since been placed on unpaid leave, alleges that only $20,000 worth of charges was legitimate and refuses to pay. The charges appeared on McCormick's corporate American Express card. SAVVIS has requested the case be dropped because it alleges the charges were not business expenses, which the company says it would be liable for. According to the court documents, Scores has already been compensated by American Express for the full amount. Neither SAVVIS or McCormick has paid American Express. |
