Autodesk Picks Application Host HCL.
2005-11-11, HostMan.biz IT outsourcing and application hosting provider HCL Tech (hcltech.com) Technologies announced on Thursday that it had added Autodesk as a new customer. Autodesk signed a five-year deal for offshore application hosting, IT management and data center services. Business applications to be hosted include SAP and Siebel while the management services will include storage and data management, technical support and database administration. The data center infrastructure will be comprised of over 200 enterprise class Sun and Dell servers. "This is the first time Autodesk has outsourced a significant IT capability to an offshore vendor," says Martin Wegenstein, vice president and CIO of Autodesk. "Clearly it is important for us to put our trust in the leader in this arena. The key factor in choosing HCL as our preferred partner is its pioneering experience and execution capability in the IT infrastructure management space." |
