Vector Completes Register.com Buy.
2005-11-07, HostMan.biz Vector Capital announced on Monday that it had completed its acquisition of Web hosting provider and domain registrar Register.com (register.com), officially making it a private company. Vector paid $7.81 per share, or approximately $200 million, for Register.com, which previously traded on the Nasdaq. "Register.com's strong brand, large customer base, and profitable business model make it a rare investment opportunity," says Alex Slusky, managing partner for Vector Capital. "We believe we can grow its revenue significantly while refocusing its operations, and we look forward to working with the company's talented team to build lasting value in this business." Register.com interim CEO David Moore will stay on while Vector Capital searches for a permanent chief executive. Register.com shareholders approved the buyout last week. |
