GeoTrust Tops UK SSL Market.
2005-10-31, HostMan.biz GeoTrust Europe (geotrusteurope.com) said on Monday that according to data from research firm Netcraft (netcraft.com), the company increased its share of the UK digital certificate market from 21.5 percent to 27.3 percent during the last 12 months. According to Netcraft's data, rivals VeriSign (verisign.com) and thawte (thawte.com) lost 4.5 and 3.8 percentage points of market share respectively, during the same period. GeoTrust said significant growth in both the retail and enterprise markets, in addition to the certificates' cost savings and productivity enhancements, contributed to the company's recent success. "This achievement is particularly impressive when you consider that GeoTrust is still a relatively new entrant in the SSL market, and even more so in the European market," says Paul Tourret, managing director of GeoTrust Europe. "We're now number one in the two biggest European markets - Germany and the UK - and our momentum is continuing to build. GeoTrust has become a widely recognized and trusted brand in both the e-commerce and enterprise markets." |
