Covalent Supports BEA, Apache Tomcat.
2005-10-28, HostMan.biz Covalent Technologies (covalent.com) said on Thursday that it would provide BEA Systems (bea.com) with support services for the Apache Tomcat application server. "Now, for the first time, BEA customers deploying the Apache Tomcat Application Server can take full advantage of production support and deep expertise from Covalent," says Mark Brewer, chief executive officer of Covalent Technologies. BEA Systems will offer a platform that combines BEA WebLogic management technologies with open source software, giving customers access to an environment for both the Apache Tomcat server and BEA WebLogic servers. "Developers want the ability to mix and match the best components and deployment platforms that give them optimal and unique building blocks to get their jobs done," says Peter Cooper-Ellis, executive vice president of BEA Systems. "Apache Tomcat support will be another step in our continued dedication to making application development more efficient and fun so that developers can be more productive as well as helping the high number of Apache Tomcat users seeking production-level support." |
