VitalStream Upgrades Network.
2005-10-24, HostMan.biz VitalStream (vitalstream.com) announced on Monday that it had made a multi-million dollar upgrade to its content delivery network. The company says the upgrade, part of a year-long expansion, is in its final phases and will significantly increase the scalability and capacity of its network infrastructure, enabling it to support rapid customer growth and demand. A Hitachi storage area network solution and 1,000 servers with 10 gigabit peering have been deployed across VitalStream's data centers. The company's traffic management feature has been upgraded to improve its ability to choose the optimal data center for initiating individual data streams. The enhanced network capacity has been backed by a strengthened SLA. "Customer demands for streaming media are increasing at exponential rates," says Jack Waterman, CEO of VitalStream. "Our recent build-out, combined with our new Professional Services Organization, ensures that our customers have the industry-leading support they need, now and in the future, with regard to network, staffing and business intelligence." |
