Akamai Names CFO and CTO .
2005-10-18, HostMan.biz Content delivery network operator Akamai Technologies (akamai.com) announced on Tuesday that it had named J. Donald Sherman as chief financial officer and Michael M. Afergan as chief technology officer. Sherman, who is currently the vice president of IBM Systems and Technology Group, will join Akamai in a month as senior vice president and CFO-elect to allow for a smooth transition. He replaces Robert Cobuzzi, who joined Akamai in 2002 and is retiring early next year. Sherman has served in various executive positions at IBM, including vice president of the server division and assistant controller for corporate financial strategy and budgets. Afergan joined the company in 1999 and served in the company's engineering and product management departments in the positions of director of technology strategy and director of load balancing and mapping. His appointment is effective immediately. |
