Equinix Founder to Take on New Role.

Equinix (equinix.com) founder and chief technology officer Jay Adelson will become a strategic advisor to the company and no longer serve as a full-time employee, the company said on Thursday.
In this new role, Adelson will continue to act as a company spokesperson, maintaining the company's ties with the networking and Internet community. Adelson says the reduced role will allow him to pursue other entrepreneurial interests.
"Jay is a visionary who took an idea and laid the foundation for a successful company that has significantly impacted the way data moves across the Internet, from email to Web content to music downloads," says Peter Van Camp, CEO of Equinix. "We look forward to his continuing advisory role at Equinix and the future contributions that he will make to our continued success."
