BCBSMA Expands Deal with Web Host EDS.

IT outsourcing giant and Web host EDS (eds.com) announced on Wednesday that it had amended an eight-year contract it has with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to include additional IT services.
The eight-year deal took effect in January 2004. EDS provides BCBSMA, a client of 36 years, with Web hosting, desktop, mainframe, mid-range and wide-area network management and middleware and integration support.
"Over the course of our long relationship, EDS has developed a deep understanding of our business, and the EDS team has demonstrated their commitment to our constant goal to improve health care service," says Carl Ascenzo, chief information officer of BCBSMA. "The solutions provided by EDS will provide greater flexibility for our members, account and health care providers while controlling our overall IT costs."
