Firefox Site Taken Down by Hackers.
2005-10-05, HostMan.biz The marketing Web site for the Firefox browser (spreadfirefox.com) has been hacked again, reports say. The hackers attacked the server hosting the site, exploiting a vulnerability in the open source tool Twiki. This is the second time the site has been hit in as many months. Hackers took down spreadfirefox.com in July, taking advantage of a security hole in the PHP scripting language. According to reports, the site will be taken offline for a few weeks and completely re-built. "SpreadFirefox is currently unavailable," a message posted on the site read. "We currently plan to make SpreadFirefox available again around October 15th. Keep checking in because it might be up before expected." |
