Web Host PowWeb Donates Hurricane Aid.
2005-09-13, HostMan.biz Web hosting firm PowWeb (powweb.com) said on Tuesday that it had developed a two-part relief donation for victims of Hurricane Katrina, immediately giving $7,000 to the American Red Cross, and providing Web hosting services to any organization that requires them for its work in the hurricane relief effort. PowWeb says the devastation to the Gulf Coast, and its impact on PowWeb customers led the company to feel it was important that it do something to help those affected. Companies that can made use of PowWeb's hosting offer include local chapters of the Red Cross, church organizations, volunteer recruitment initiatives, food drives or any other cause that might help in the relief effort. The company has registered its offer with the US Department of Homeland Security, and invites organizations interested in the offer to mail relief@powweb.com. "As the country remembers the tragedy of September 11, 2001," said PowWeb president Andrew Te, "we are also recovering from a new disaster caused by Mother Nature. I hope that PowWeb can do its small part to make that easier on those affected." |
