Apache Windows Split Holds Steady.
2005-09-06, HostMan.biz Internet research firm Netcraft (netcraft.com) reported in its September 2005 Web server survey that both Microsoft and Apache held steadily to their respective shares of the Web server market in the month of August, with each of them growing steadily in users. The September survey received responses from 71,723,098 sites, marking an increase of 1.33 million sites from August, and evidencing a strong continued growth in the Internet. Apache gained 703,000 sites and Microsoft added 217,000, but share remained steady for each organization in the narrow range each has occupied for more than a year. Apache, however, is now poised to reach 50 million sites under management, probably within the next month, says Netcraft. |
