British Telecom Moves to Motive.
2005-08-30, HostMan.biz British Telecom (bt.com) said on Tuesday that it had moved the hosting of its broadband customer self-help software to the Austin, Texas location of managed services and hosting provider Motive (motive.com). Motive will host BT's Motive-based management solution, which supports BT's small business and residential offerings. BT says Motive's hosting of the software ensures 24-hour management and enables the company to concentrate on its core business. "Broadband is becoming an essential home service, and without Motive's technology to diagnose and repair problems, we would fail to give customers the service they expect," says Colin Pavey, program manager for BT Retail. "With Motive's hosting capabilities, we are confident the application is going to be constantly available to our customers and service agents and will be supported 24 hours a day." Motive's hosted offering, the companies say, reduces BT costs by £500,000 each year. |
