Dygra Firms Picks Sun Hardware, Solaris.
2005-08-23, HostMan.biz Sun Microsystems (sun.com) announced on Tuesday that Spanish film production company Dygra Films deployed Sun hardware and the Solaris 10 operating system to replace its Intel-based Windows platform. Dygra's deployment includes AMD Opteron and SPARC-powered Sun Fire servers, Sun StorEdge arrays and tape libraries, Java technology-based software and the Solaris 10 operating system. Sun says its technology has helped the company improve efficiencies and increase production by 50 percent. "Our decision to select Sun systems was driven by the sheer performance of its Sun Fire servers powered with both AMD Opteron and SPARC processors, and its competitive pricing," says Daniel Diaz De La Iglesia, system analyst for Dygra Films. "We're confident that our work with Sun can only lead to greater accomplishments in the animation field." |
