Cisco Site Hacked, Reports Say.
2005-08-05, HostMan.biz According to reports, Cisco Systems (cisco.com) began resetting passwords on Wednesday in response to a potentially significant exposure of user data caused by a suspected hack on its Web site. Cisco described the measures, which affect employees, partners and customers, as precautions. A third party security company informed Cisco about the vulnerability, which has already been corrected. Cisco said the vulnerability was not the result of weaknesses in its products, but some analysts say the incident casts some doubt on Cisco products, a major component of the Internet backbone. |
