Tucows Updates Platypus Billing System.
2005-08-04, HostMan.biz Internet services wholesaler Tucows (tucows.com) said on Thursday that it had released version 5.1 of the Platypus billing system. The latest version includes support and integration for domain names, blogware and other Tucows services. Tucows is also releasing a new version of its OpenSRS client code suite, integrating the OpenSRS provisioning and management platform into the Platypus system. Tucows says the moves are part of its plan to create a unified billing and customer care solution that enables all service providers, including hosts, to automate the sale of Tucows services and bundle them with more flexibility. "We knew Platypus did a great job of billing, provisioning and customer care for ISPs and we also knew that in order to meet the needs of the market today it had to continue to evolve," says Elliot Noss, CEO of Tucows. "Today, service providers need to bill, provision and support multiple services. They need more bundling and pricing flexibility." Tucows acquired Platypus in April 2004. |
