Limelight Speeds Podcasts for WNYC.

Content delivery network operator Limelight Networks (limelightnetworks.com) announced on Wednesday that it would provide infrastructure for the Internet delivery of podcasts by WNYC, New York Public Radio.
Limelight says its network is helping WNYC handle the tripling in consumer demand for its podcasts resulting from its inclusion in the recently launched iTunes Podcast Directory homepage. Traffic is also being pushed by downloads at the WNYC home page.
"In just one day, our program On the Media, which was highlighted on the Podcast Directory's homepage, saw a 150 percent increase in downloads," says Bill Swersey, director of Interactive Media. "Thanks to Limelight, we have been able to keep up with the continuous increase in demand from listeners who are finding us through iTunes."
