OMS SafeHabor Picks SAVVIS in Ireland.

Web hosting and managed services provider SAVVIS (savvis.com) announced on Monday that it has added OMS SafeHarbor as a new customer. OMS SafeHarbor, a supplier of digital product lifecycle management and electronic software delivery solutions, selected SAVVIS's content delivery network to power the distribution of its solutions.
OMS SafeHarbor also wanted to locate in Ireland to take advantage of tax incentives granted to US-based software companies. Basing the services in Ireland was a requirement to attain the cost savings and was made possible by SAVVIS's ability to help customers locate their Web applications anywhere in the world.
"OMS's software customers want to benefit from Ireland's low-tax model, but to do so, our origin servers must reside in Ireland to be in compliance with Irish tax law," says Keith Caveney, president and chief executive officer of OMS SafeHarbor. "Thanks to their expertise with other large ESD customers, SAVVIS was able to deliver a customized hosted application service that allows for OMS's proprietary application, EntitleNow!, to be delivered securely and efficiently globally off of edge servers housed in Dublin. The digital assets of OMS's customers are then served and downloaded from Ireland over the SAVVIS CDN to ensure the highest levels of availability and reliability."
