Internet America Buys TopGun Telecom.
2005-07-22, HostMan.biz Internet services and Web hosting provider Internet America (internetamerica.com) announced on Thursday that it had acquired TopGun Telecom, a Texas-based wireless service provider, and expanded its wireless service to include ten new rural cities between Houston and San Antonio. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company says the acquisition is part of its strategy to bring broadband Internet service to underserved markets. "TopGun Telecom is a very exciting acquisition for Internet America," says Billy Ladin, CEO of Internet America. "They offer a top notch wireless product to their customers in Wilson and Bexar counties and have built a technically impressive network. We are excited to be offering wireless Internet service in these new rural markets surrounding San Antonio." Kurt Mullen, president of TopGun Telecom, will remain with the company as the general manager of the San Antonio area. |
