Rackspace Unveils Red Label for Linux.
2005-07-18, HostMan.biz Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.com) said on Monday that it had launched Rackspace Red Label, a suite of services for its enterprise Linux managed hosting offerings. Rackspace Red Label premium services include proactive patching, multi-layer monitoring, application infrastructure support and technology planning. The company says Red Label was introduced to meet the demands of large enterprises working in Linux hosting environments that are seeking comprehensive management, monitoring and security services to keep their mission-critical business applications running optimally. "We're responding to a growing demand for advanced Linux hosting, and Rackspace Red Label provides a responsive, secure and stable environment for enterprises looking to capitalize on the benefits of Linux for application development," says Paul Froutan, vice president of product engineering for Rackspace Managed Hosting. "Our strong partnerships with some of the best Linux vendors like Novell and Red Hat have enabled us to deliver an openly-architected and best-of-breed solution backed by Rackspace's Linux expertise and Fanatical Support." According to Rackspace, Red Label is ideal for applications running on J2EE or the Linux, Apache, MySQL and Python, Perl or PHP stack. And for companies migrating from Sun to Linux, Rackspace Red Label provides stability, security and a lower total cost of ownership, the company says. Rackspace hosts more than 4,500 Linux configurations. |
