NetNames Accepting .eu Applications. 2005-07-11, HostMan.biz Domain registrar NetNames (netnames.co.uk) said on Monday that as an accredited registrar, it is now able to accept sunrise applications for the .eu top-level domain. The "sunrise" period is a restricted registration window for qualified applicants to register domains in advance of general release. It is designed to enable copyright and trademark holders to protect their brands against cybersquatters and other competitors. Phase one of the .eu sunrise period, expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year, will only be available to registered trademark holders and public bodies.
