Trustix Secure Linux 3.0 Released.
2005-07-07, HostMan.biz Web hosting automation and security solution provider Comodo (comodogroup.com) said on Thursday that its Trustix (trustix.org) division had released the Trustix Secure Linux 3.0 operating system, a version the company says features various new capabilities and more robust security. New capabilities in the latest version include X.org X11 libraries, FreeRadius support, easy PXE installs, Mini CD and Net CD versions of the OS, enhanced hardware detection, installation on RAID and logical volumes and a range of kernel upgrades including the shift to Linux 2.6 kernel and BASH 3. The company says the most important new feature is the Viper installer. Viper polls the most current updates during the installation process, ensuring that servers deploying TSL are up to date and secure from the first installation. This closes what Trustix calls the "insecurity window," the period between the first installation and the time it takes to locate, download and implement upgrades. Trustix says TSL 3.0 is also easier to configure and administrate. TSL 3.0 is available for free download on the company's Web site. |
