Hosting Controller Flaw Found.
2005-06-29, HostMan.biz According to reports, a security vulnerability has been discovered in the Hosting Controller (hostingcontroller.com) automation system. The flaw, reports say, is the result of an input validation error in the "error.asp" script that does not properly filter a specially crafted "error" parameter. An attacker can exploit the flaw to cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the user's browser. The flaw affects Hosting Controller versions in the 6.x family. It is being rated by security organization Secunia (secunia.org) as "less critical." No patch is known to be available. Secunia advises users to edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitized. |
