Comodo Calls for Security Collaboration.
2005-06-17, HostMan.biz Risk Alignment Services provider Comodo (comodo.com) laid out its strategy on Wednesday in focusing on customer awareness to succeed in a saturated Internet landscape. Melih Abdulhayoglu, president and CEO of Comodo, says that fostering a level of assurance similar to that of a live action transaction is possible if the customer has access to the tools, education and confidence to ensure the validity of the Web site entrusted with their credit card information. In a paper entitled 'Establishing Trust on the Internet,' Abdulhayoglu writes, "Unlike the real world, where a customer that enters a store can see us, touch us, smell us and validate the reality of our existence, on the online world there is only the pixels of a monitor. In the physical world we can use all of our 5 senses - in the virtual world we can use only 1. We need to create a situation where seeing, genuinely, is believing." Abdulhayoglu believes that a cooperative effort should be made by e-commerce sites, Web hosts and security companies to secure every facet of a standard Internet transaction. |
