NU Domain Adds Domain Typo Protection.
2005-06-17, HostMan.biz Domain registrar .NU Domain (nudomain.nu) announced on Thursday that it had introduced its new SpellGuard service to help companies protect their brands from keyboard errors and "typosquatting." The company says the service enables protection for up to five misspellings of a domain name. Misspelled domain names can be two letters shorter or longer than the primary domain name and may have up to two changes in letters. These domains would be redirected to the primary domain or URL and would not have to be hosted by the domain name holder's ISP or Web host. "Keyboarding errors, misspellings and variations in spellings are all ways which users can end up at the wrong Web site, resulting in brand degradation," says J. William Semich, founder and CEO of .NU Domain. "With SpellGuard, for a very small fee an organization can protect its brands without incurring the cost and time of managing numerous variations of its primary domain name." .NU Domain's SpellGuard is available for $5 per year per primary domain for the first five misspellings. |
