Postini Connection Patent Allowed.
2005-06-14, HostMan.biz Email security and management service provider Postini (postini.com) announced on Monday that the US Patent and Trademark Office has allowed Postini's second patent application, which covers the technology behind its connection security capabilities. With 105 claims, the patent covers the management of the transmission of electronic messages through active data updating, in which Postini conducts real-time analysis of the activities of email sources and senders and responds to messages accordingly. The allowed application forms the basis of advanced IP reputation information collection and action technology, significantly reducing the impact of dynamic SMTP threats, including directory harvest attacks, relay zombies and other attacks that cannot be prevented through content filtering alone. "This type of protected innovation will allow us to continue to grow our customer base, and deliver industry leading security services that respond to the changing threat profile in Internet messaging," says Scott Petry, founder and senior vice president of products and engineering at Postini. |
