Euro-IX Forum to Host 30 Exchanges.

The sixth European Internet Exchange Association Forum (euro-ix.net), to be held on April 11 and 12 in London, England, is set to be the largest-ever gathering of Internet Exchange Points from around the world, with more than 30 Internet exchange providers from 20 counties attending, the Euro-IX Association said on Wednesday.
The Euro-IX Forum is in its third year and will be hosted by The London Internet Exchange and University College London. Participants will discuss the latest technical, commercial and regulatory issues that affect Internet traffic. Presentations will cover IXP network monitoring tools, technical issues and next generation networks, multicast developments, commercial, regulatory and security issues, and various viewpoints form current IXP customers and vendors.
"As the largest gathering of IXPs to date, the Euro-IX Forum in London will represent the recent dramatic increase in the international co-operation of organizations involved in Internet switching and peering," says Kurtis Lindqvist, board chairman of the Euro-IX. "The steady growth of the Euro-IX community and the continued success of its biannual forums is a clear sign of the importance of the Euro-IX mission and the interest of organizations, academics and policy makers in improving the efficiency and the security of the Internet on a global scale. The Euro-IX community has expanded beyond Europe in 2005, and now welcomes IXPs from other regions as associate members."
