Colo, Hosting Association to Re-launch.
2005-03-22, HostMan.biz The Colocation and Hosting Association (chaglobal.com) is to formally re-launch at the forthcoming Data Centers Europe (datacentreseurope.com) event, chairman Tim Mellons said on Monday. The CHA, focused on the colocation, hosting and data center industries, was originally established for European companies, but will be re-launched with a global focus. CHA will offer seminars throughout the year, with the first event focusing on the problems associated with provisioning power to data centers and their financial impact. The organization says it will also focus on regulatory developments. "We intend to act as the focal point for the industry, which embraces the service provider organizations, their equipment and power suppliers and legal advisors. Although Europe has been the focus of the organization so far, we intend over the coming year to establish associate groups in Asia and also in North America," says Mellons. "Our vision is to fuse ideas and knowledge across the regions, and to enable our members to benchmark the best in terms of trends and solutions that will significantly benefit their businesses." Data Centers Europe 2005 is an annual forum for the data center, colocation and hosting industries. This year's event is to be held on April 28-29 in London, England. The CHA will host a special workshop at the Data Centers Europe event, presented by Alexander Brown of the London law firm Simmons and Simmons. The seminar, "Criminal and Civil liability for Data Hosters and Data Centers," will assess critical issues for content producers and hosts, including liability in the event of breach of copyright, particularly in file-sharing cases. |
