Hack Attack Infects Web Host Servers.

The Internet Storm Center (isc.sans.org) reported this week that a large-scale hack attack occurred over the weekend, infecting the servers of several Web hosting companies and turning the sites hosted on those boxes into distributors of malicious code.
The attack targeted shared hosting servers hosting multiple Web sites. According to ISC, the attack resulted in scripts being attached to the home pages of each of the sites hosted on the compromised servers. The scripts then redirected visitors to a malicious site, which distributed the code. By Monday afternoon, the malicious site was reportedly offline.
The hackers also used dynamic DNS in order to avoid detections by ISPs. The IP address for three different domains, ICS says, were all resolving to one address - 217.16.26.148.
