Orange UK Picks BladeLogic Solution.
2005-03-02, HostMan.biz Data center automation software developer BladeLogic (bladelogic.com) announced on Monday that wireless carrier Orange UK had selected BladeLogic Operations Manager as its data center automation platform. BladeLogic Operations Manager, the company says, is an automation solution that enables the provisioning, configuration and management of large-scale, distributed server environments. "With 12 different data center locations, our challenge is to efficiently manage an ever-increasing number of remote servers in a cost-effective manner," says Steve Cotterell, principal engineer with Orange. "With BladeLogic, we have vastly improved our ability to not only keep key elements in our network running more efficiently, but also to ensure that we can remain highly responsive to the quickly changing requirements of Orange's business. Based on the benefits we have experienced since deploying BladeLogic, the return on investment has been compelling." According to BladeLogic, the operational benefits of deploying BladeLogic Operations Manger include improved levels of customer service and increased levels of IT staff productivity. Orange previously deployed BladeLogic's Network Shell, a command line interface for server management in data center environments.
