Azul to Launch Data Center Appliance.
2005-02-25, HostMan.biz According to reports, startup Azul Systems (azulsystems.com) plans to launch its first product next month, an appliance designed to accelerate and simplify the processing of middleware applications in data centers. The Azul appliance works with applications from vendors such as BEA Systems's Weblogic or IBM's WebSphere. Its proxy software is installed on servers running the middleware and it transfers Java processing jobs away from that server over to the Azul appliance. A single appliance, reports say, can work with several different applications simultaneously and the company believes the technology can be used to consolidate all the application processing in a data center into once place. The company will reportedly announce a partnership with IBM next week and is involved in discussions with Microsoft. Azul's technology does not yet support the Microsoft .NET platform. EDS is also reportedly in the process of testing the technology. |
