Globix Hosting Smithsonian Magazine.
2005-02-09, HostMan.biz Web hosting provider Globix Corporation (globix.com) announced on Wednesday it has helped Smithsonian Magazine (smithsonianmagazine.com) launch the Web site for its 2nd Annual Photo Contest for amateur photographers. Smithsonian Magazine, along with Globix's support, has created a Web site for its photo contest. Providing scalable web infrastructure support, disc array, backup and security services, Globix improved the efficiency of photo submission and judging for the photo contest. The photo contest, which is now closed, has received a record response of over 22,000 online entries. "By taking the photo contest online, we needed an Internet provider that was able to help us improve the overall management of the photo contest," says Michelle McMahon of Smithsonian Magazine. "With its proven hosting capabilities, team of experts and our existing relationship, we naturally went to Globix." The category finalists will be posted on the magazine's Web site on April 1, 2005, with the winning photographs and selected finalists to be published in Smithsonian Magazine's summer 2005 issue. |
